The conference objectives are:

We are now accepting proposals for the Third International Conference "Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Biomedical Research" with elements of a youth science school which will be held on 24–26 November 2016 on the basis of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of SB RAS and the International Tomography Centre of SB RAS in Novosibirsk, Russia.
Following the 2014 and 2015 conferences held at Tomsk State University (Tomsk, Russia), it was decided to extend the themes of the conference and include both the scientific results of MRI studies conducted in laboratory animals and the results of advanced clinical research to ensure the close interaction of the fundamental directions and translation of the latest technology to the clinic. The conference on MRI in the Akademgorodok of Novosibirsk will expand the list of participants and the audience.

International Academic Conference “The National, The Imperial, The Colonial In Russian Literature” is organized by Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, National Research Tomsk State University, Department of Russian and Foreign Literature, Imagology and Comparative Studies Journal.
The Conference is to be held in the city of Tomsk on September 22—23, 2016.
The Conference aims to focus on the discussion of the role, nature and instruments of Russian literature in the reflection and modeling of the imperial-colonial and nation-building experience at different stages of cultural evolution (pre-modern, modern and postmodern).
Proposals are invited for report presentations on the following key issues:
1. Russian literature in the imperial and post-imperial culture: institutional and aesthetic aspects:
imperial culture as a social and historical phenomenon;
Russian literature and institutions of imperial culture (ideological, social and communicative interaction);
Russia's "imperial imaginary" and tools of its literary modeling;
features of formation and functioning of the national literary canon in the imperial conditions;
Russian literature in the post-imperial cultural situation.
2. The ethnic diversity of the country and strategies of its representation in Russian literature (colonial, post-colonial, transnational):
features of Russian colonialism as a theoretical and historical problem, its place in the imperial nation-building;
literature and colonial institutions of the empire (administrative, religious, scientific, educational, cultural);
literary imagology of the Russian imperial space: regions, ethnic groups, local cultures;
colonial, post-colonial and transcultural consciousness in contemporary Russian literature.
3. The imperial experience of Russian literature in the comparative context:
European-American and Russian scenarios of the "power" and "knowledge" interaction;
Orientalized and Westernized images of Russia in the Western cultural consciousness and literature;
Russian imperial imagology in the European context;
poetics of Russian colonial / post-colonial discourse in the comparative perspective.
The contributors are asked to register and upload abstracts of their reports (3000–5000 characters with spaces) to the conference website by 31 May 2016.
The Program Committee will select reports for the Conference on a competitive basis after the review of applications and abstracts. The decision of the Program Committee on accepting reports for the Conference will be communicated by 30 June 2016.
The Organizing Committee will support accommodation and meals for participants of the conference. The Organizing Committee does not cover travel expenses.
By the results of the conference, the Organizing Committee will publish articles on the material of presented reports after they go through a review process. Articles will be published in the conference proceedings and / or in Imagology and Comparative Studies, a Tomsk State University journal. Articles are to be submitted by 30 November 2016.

TSU's Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research is pleased to announce Ist Tomsk Anthropological Forum “Anthropology in search of language of description”
Forum is to be held in the city of Tomsk on September 15-17, 2016.
The Tomsk Anthropological Forum (TAF) is launched by the Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research in the framework of the project ‘Man in a Changing World. Identity and Social Adaptation: Past and Present’ funded by the Russian Government (grant # 14.В25.31.0009) and D.I. Mendeleev Scientific Foundation of the Tomsk State University (project 18.104.22.1685С). It is intended to constitute a platform for a broad discussion of topical theoretical and practical issues in social anthropology. The Forum is to be held once every two years.
The TAF-2016 aims to discuss issues related to such contemporary challenges as the increased and ever more complex migration flows, the spread of new information technologies and the intensive resource development of new territories. Within the ‘migrations – technologies – resources and people’ theoretical framework, conceptualizations currently existing in modern anthropology will be critically reexamined and new theoretical approaches to as well as languages of description for both old and relatively new issues will be attempted at.
The Forum’s organizers seek a broad interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of issues put forward for discussion.

The field school-seminar is planned within the framework of the main activity of the Laboratory of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic continental ecosystem (TSU Faculty of Geology and Geography). The activity of the Laboratory is related with the interdisciplinary research of biogeocoenosis of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic, abiotical and biotical interaction, the issues of extinction and survival of organisms. The field works will be held in the paleontological localities.
Also, it is planned to conduct research of natural and anthropological sections, to carry out lectures and trainings on the methodic of paleontological, stratigraphic and paleogeographic field research. There is also a plan to teach participants the methods of excavation, basic principles of taphonomic and paleoecological analyzes.

In Tomsk meals are up to the participants (~ 3 days prior and 2 days after the field-work period). 15-30 euros is enough for 3 meals a day at low-cost restaurants.
The transport costs of the module 3 include train tickets (economy class sleeping car) Tomsk – Omsk – Tomsk.
Lease of individual equipment is planned for the whole field-work period. This equipment includes: a sleeping bag and a liner for it, a roll mat and a tent. In case of using participant’s personal equipment, this expense is not charged for. Participants should have expeditionary clothes, shoes, a backpack, and personal hygiene means.
Costs for living in Tomsk city are not taken into account (dormitory, TSU’s hotel and other hotel of Tomsk city).
TSU provides 1 full grant for each module which covers airport transfer, meals, cultural events, tuition. Participants have to pay for their accommodation in Tomsk. As a bonus to training, participants will have guided tours around Tomsk State University, its faculties and museums. The City of Tomsk tours will also be provided and accompanied by a highly-skilled guide. Transportation to Tomsk and back: covered by the students.
Taking into account the field conditions for the Summer School, personal sleepingbags and tents as well as proper field clothing and shoes are desirable. If you have any difficulties getting these, please let us know.
